Hotel near Cologne Zoo
The Cologne Zoo receives over 1.3 million visitors annually, and there are more than 10,000 animals to marvel at. Many short-stay guests at the PhiLeRo Hotel also like to plan an extensive visit to the zoo. Families, in particular, don't miss out on this eventful outing.
The Cologne Zoological Garden was founded in 1860 in the Cologne district of Riehl. This makes the Cologne Zoo the third oldest zoo in Germany. Particularly worth seeing are the historic aviary from 1899, the monkey rock with daily public feedings, the aquarium, and the rainforest house. The elephant park also has numerous fans and admirers. Approximately 12 elephants have found their home here.
Tier babies especially delight the little visitors
Numerous births are recorded at Cologne Zoo every month. Recently, „Picasso” and „Cassie”, the red river hogs at Cologne Zoo, had offspring. The piglet is called Abby and can already welcome visitors. This summer, paradise cranes, a California sea lion, Deserta tarantulas, and other small and large animal babies hatched.
