Cologne Bonn Airport „Konrad Adenauer“ (CGN) is the largest low-cost hub in Germany. It is only 11 km to the PhiLeRo Hotel Cologne.

Around 10.5 million people fly from here to more than 130 destinations. Measured by its total traffic performance, i.e. passenger traffic plus freight, Cologne/Bonn is the fourth-largest airport in Germany; by passenger numbers it is in sixth place and in freight, it ranks second. In 2007, over 719,000 tonnes of freight were handled here.

Remarkable is the extraordinary passenger development over the last six years, i.e. since the launch of low-cost carriers at Cologne Bonn. Within this relatively short period, passenger numbers have grown by an impressive 92 percent.

Around 50 passenger airlines serve the over 130 destinations today.
The flight schedule includes a variety of connections to European metropolises and tourist regions, as well as direct flights to Iran and North Africa.

With a catchment area of 15.5 million people within a hundred-kilometre radius and excellent infrastructure, the airport is one of the few in Europe with significant development potential. Three runways can effortlessly handle the continuously increasing traffic growth from low-cost carriers. The longest runway, at 3,815 metres, is the only true intercontinental runway in North Rhine-Westphalia. There is no shortage of slots at attractive times. Currently, there are approximately 415 take-offs and landings daily. The two terminals can handle over 14 million passengers annually.

Cologne/Bonn Airport (CGN) is the ideal example of the integration of air, rail, and road transport. With its own motorway connection, it is directly linked to the dense motorway network in North Rhine-Westphalia. Around 170 ICE, S-Bahn, and regional express trains arrive daily at the airport's own train station. As it is located centrally between the two terminals, it is only a few steps from the platform to the check-in desks.
