Cologne Zoo. Enthusiastic about animals!
Cologne Zoo is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in Germany. Around 10,000 animals from more than 750 different species are home to the cathedral city's zoological garden. In addition to modern animal enclosures such as the Hippodom, Elephant Park, or Rainforest House, which were built to the latest zoological standards, visitors to Cologne Zoo can also still visit historic animal houses today. For this reason alone, among others, Cologne Zoo has developed into a popular excursion destination for young and old in its over 150-year history. Experiencing animals and imparting knowledge: Nature and species conservation are clearly among the focal points, to which, alongside the experience on offer for visitors of all ages, increasing attention is being paid at Cologne Zoo. Not only are the animals shown, but above all, interrelationships are presented that illustrate the significance and complexity of the respective ecosystems.
